Food Industry

Sharon Ritchey’s formal writing career began 1993 in the Netherlands where she became the Benelux editor for two of E.W. Williams publications, Quick Frozen Foods International and Private Label Magazine International. Today she is still a contributing writer. Her extensive food industry experience led her to the North American Meat Processors Association where for four years she served as the Association’s communications manager. She oversaw a complete revision of the industry publication, The Meat Buyers Guide and served as editor, writer, and publications coordinator for The Poultry Buyers Guide.

Most recently she was a contributing food writer to the Sheknows.com online site and a ghost writer for Low Carb expert Dana Carpender. She is a regular writer for Chef Jacques Haeringer of the famed L’Auberge Chez Francois restaurant in Great Falls, Virginia. Additionally Sharon Ritchey and Home Row Editorial write volumes of food industry media materials for the Trina Kaye Organization and Lisa Ekus Public Relations, two firms representing cookbook authors, chefs, and food manufacturers.

Home Row Editorial was hired by the Lisa Ekus Group to create and help manage a national cooking competition for Olivado.

Olivado is Australian-based company manufacturing high quality culinary avocado oil. The company, working with the professional cooking organization, Women Chef’s and Restaurateurs, wanted to run a cooking competition to showcase its products.

Home Row helped to design the competition, create the rules, press materials, and oversaw the judging of the finalist recipes at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in New York.
